Cristian Iosub

Senior Product Manager and Cybersecurity Researcher based in Bucharest, Romania - with more than two decades of experience at the rare intersection of product leadership and digital security.

Who is Cristian Iosub

Cristian Iosub has built a career most people would consider two careers. On one side, he designs and scales digital products; on the other, he tests and defends them. Over nearly twenty years he has moved fluently between the product manager's roadmap and the security researcher's threat model, and that combination is what defines his work today.

He is currently Senior Product Manager at White Hat Technology, a Romanian cybersecurity company specializing in offensive security and tailored software for public institutions and private organizations. He is also the founder and president of CyberShield - the Cybersecurity Education Association - and the coordinator of CyberSkill.ro, a national cybersecurity training platform.

Cybersecurity work

At White Hat Technology, Cristian leads penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, physical security audits, and phishing-simulation campaigns for city halls, public agencies, and private companies across Romania. His audits are aligned with ISO/IEC 27001, NIS2, GDPR, OWASP and the NIST Framework, covering IT infrastructure, web applications, internal networks, and organizational security posture, and they always end where they matter most: an actionable remediation plan and tailored security-awareness training.

He also leads the development of AI Voice Agents in Romanian - conversational systems for inbound and outbound call automation, deployed in public-sector institutions and built to GDPR standards on EU-hosted infrastructure.

Every year he evaluates the security posture of online stores as a member of the GPeC jury, and he takes part in international cyber-defense exercises including Locked Shields (NATO CCDCOE) and CyDEx (organized by the Romanian Intelligence Service, SRI). He holds active membership in OWASP.

Product and digital leadership

Before focusing on security, Cristian spent years shipping products at scale. As Product Owner and Head of Product at Ringier Romania, he directed digital platforms for the country's largest publishing group - Libertatea.ro, GSP, ELLE, VIVA! and eJobs.ro - serving millions of monthly users, and led an Agile transformation to cut time-to-market.

As Digital Platforms Manager at Conversion Marketing, he delivered more than 100 digital projects for brands including eMAG, Microsoft, Danone, CyberGhost, MedLife, Banca Transilvania, BRD and UNICEF, while implementing ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 27001 standards as an internal auditor. Earlier, as Product Marketing Manager at MailUp in Florence, Italy, he managed the full lifecycle of the BeeFree SaaS email-marketing platform for enterprise clients across Europe.

Education and community

Cristian believes security fails or succeeds on people, not just technology. Through CyberShield he organizes national exercises, training programmes and digital-awareness campaigns for public and private audiences, with a particular focus on protecting young people, educators and parents online. Through CyberSkill.ro he builds partnerships with public institutions and private companies to bring practical cybersecurity education to a national scale.
